[issue:392] tfm file conflicts between japanese-otf{,-uptex}
by Karl Berry 16 Nov '20

16 Nov '20

As of the new updates to japanese-otf, it seems about a dozen tfms with the same name exist in j-otf and j-otf-uptex. All are under texmf-dist/fonts/tfm/public. These files are different in the two directories. I trust it will get resolved soon, one way or another? --thanks, karl. japanese-otf/otf-ujgb-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujgb-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujgbn-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujgbn-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujge-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujge-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujgen-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujgen-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujgr-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujgr-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujgrn-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujgrn-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmb-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmb-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmbn-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmbn-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmgr-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmgr-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmgrn-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmgrn-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujml-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujml-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmln-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmln-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmr-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmr-h.tfm japanese-otf/otf-ujmrn-h.tfm japanese-otf-uptex/otf-ujmrn-h.tfm

Thanks for the explanation. But nevertheless the updated date should be highlighted at least a little bit, for example in the modified files makeotf, mkjvf, … I've installed the new version and updated the catalogue repository, since there is actually a “20201114.0” at the end of the README which I have overlooked the last time. Sorry. The changes should become available on the mirrors within the next 24 hours. Kind regards Erik Braun for the CTAN Team -- Please send messages to this mailing list in English only. Dear Erik Braun, Thank you for your comment. The package is maintained as (1) original source code and (2) a package with binary tfm/vf font data. (1) is maintained by Mr. Shuzaburo Saito. http://psitau.kitunebi.com/otf.html (2) is maintained by Japanese TeX Development Community https://github.com/texjporg/japanese-otf-mirror/releases The version number of (1) is "1.7b8" (the latest) and that of (2) is "2020-11-14". Because the present submission does not include update of (1), I think "Version: 1.7b8 2020-11-14" is appropriate. In addition, the present update intends to fix small typo only and do not affect on outputs of typeset.
