[issue:201] Re: TLContrib packages into MacPorts?
by Mojca Miklavec 05 Jul '18

Hi, A while ago we had some ptex-related stuff in MacPorts which was completely unmaintained for years and we removed it after a while (there's still a package ptex-sfmacros, whatever that one does). In order to get a package for MacPorts, either someone needs to prepare a package and make a pull request, or someone needs to push one of existing macports contributors. It might be easy enough to create a package for one of us, I only need some URL with a tarball that will ideally not change with time. (In principle git could also work.) What would that URL be? Is there any reason why these packages are not also distributed with upstream TeX Live or at least with MacTeX? This is not an either-or question, it could be distributed via both different channels. [issue:200] TLContrib packages into MacPorts?
by Hironobu Yamashita 04 Jul '18

Hi Mojca, A Japanese user of TeX Live/MacPorts reported following issue: * some Japanese macOS-specific packages (e.g. "ptex-fontmaps-macos" and "cjk-gs-integrate-macos") are not distributed with TeX Live; they are in TLContrib instead http://contrib.texlive.info/ * tlmgr cannot be executed on macports, so they cannot run $ tlmgr repository add therefore, they cannot install packages with macports. I guess this issue can be solved by adding these TLContrib packages into port, but I'm not sure who can sort this (as I don't use macports); I'll be glad if you can point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance -- Hironobu ----- Hironobu Yamashita (GitHub: @aminophen) Japanese TeX Development Community https://texjp.org/

Hi Karl, (cc: Joseph) The file ".tex" in latex tools is missing since r47329: Master/texmf-dist/tex/latex/tools/.tex due to a problem in l3build script. Joseph's fix of l3build arrived (r47629), so please reinstall latex tools when you have time. Best, Hironobu Yamashita
