[issue:303] Re: fmtutil fails after updating hyph-utf8
Hi Mojca, Nice to hear that a new version will be released soon. Sorry I'm on a business trip now, so I will look when I get home. Thanks, Hironobu 2019/09/21 7:40, Mojca Miklavec <mojca.miklavec.lists@gmail.com>:
Hi,
Last time we made a mistake and TeX Live used a workaround for the fix, and we didn't release a proper fix yet. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. We would like to release a new version of hyph-utf8 soon. I believe the problem is fixed, but if the second pair of eyes double-checks before we push the release to TeX Live ...
Thank you very much, Mojca

Hi,
Today fmtutil(-sys) in TeX Live r50807 fails:
Failed to build: 8 (euptex/euptex eptex/eptex pdftex/pdftex euptex/uplatex pdftex/etex pdftex/pdfetex eptex/platex pdftex/eplain)
By restoring texmf-dist/tex/generic/hyph-utf8 at r50791, it succeeds. It seems that the change introduced in topic "extending `hyph-zh-latn-pinyin.tex'" is the culprit.
* Engine e(u)ptex is failing at hyph-utf8/patterns/ptex/hyph-zh-latn-pinyin.ec.tex ! Non letter. l.201 ' 1a ?
* Engine pdftex is failing at hyph-utf8/patterns/tex-8bit/pyhyph.tex ! Non letter. l.163 1n^^fc ?
